<p>Can someone with an income of around $70,000/yr expect to have a need gap of below $10,000/yr? My brother is in a $7,000/yr middle school right now, and my father is temporarily disabled.</p>
<p>Is financial aid generally good at Hampshire?</p>
<p>I’m a Hampshire first-year and I had a gap of $9000, which is unfortunately typical for this college. Hampshire has almost no endowment and has a hard time funding its current operations so gaps are all too common. Several of my friends had to drop out after first semester due to changes in their aid. Sorry for being a downer.</p>
<p>Thanks for the reply. That’s not great, but it could be worse; Bennington has about a $30,000/yr need gap for me, which pretty much sucks.</p>
