Financial Aid

Does Columbia process financial aid applications for all applicants? Do they just request info form those that will be accepted? Does anyone have any experience with this? Just wondering if we should be hearing something. Thanks.

I would imagine they’d only process the accepted ones but would ask for missing info from all to avoid asking for it when there’s a time crunch to get fa out.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using CC

I just got an e-mail saying that they are missing a piece of financial aid. It would be nice to know that they process the financial aid package after they hear who was accepted or not. :)

I doubt it though. They probably want all materials from all applicants/

^exactly, because if they did decide on your app a few days before the decision, it would be hell trying to ask you to send stuff ASAP and get everything in before/in time for you to actually make a solid decision.

Interesting does anybody know the answer to this? My cousin got the same email so im curious. I hope she’s in :)

Probably depends. Was the email personalized? It seems that for some schools, personal FA information requests do generally indicate acceptance.

In the future, purposely don’t give them all the FA information until much later. :p

This is what I think happens.

The online tracker closes on the 23rd I believe. At that time, they combine the people who where accepted to the fa and the rest who were not accepted do not receive the package. Before that time they gather all applicant material.

In all, if you get this type of email in later March, you are probably in. I’m taking 25-28th.
