financial aid

syracuse is giving me a bunch of money. im not racist. but im not stupid either so i know its because im black. is anyone else getting money from syracuse? how much??

Syracuse has a reputation for giving large amounts of finicial aid to minorty students.

I have no clue what aid they're giving me. But they say on college board that they fill on average 84% of need, so a large aid package may not be completely because of race. You also applied ED, they want to make sure ED applicants can afford it, and that they aren't backing out.

ooooooooh i see what you mean. i totally understand that. ive never even thought about it like that.

a2wolves6 are u going to syracuse??

I'm about 4% going to Syracuse, probably lower.

ouch. lol. why not? 4%? wow. lol. whuts wrong with cuse?

Well, I initially applied there because I was interested in their Sport Management program. After I found out that their program was in it's first year, and had no track record, the interest severely dropped. For SM, the longer the track record, the better the program. It's those connections that you build within the program that measures how good it is. So the first year detail is HUGE. I also applied to 6 other schools, all of them warmer and with less snow than Syracuse. None of them carry the price tag Syracuse does. Most have higher peer assessment ratings, which I think is important because it's how the university is viewed. Most have better business programs, better SM programs. And Syracuse doesn't have the best campus or facilities out there. The only reason i'd attend is if they gave me an aid package I can't refuse, basically covering all of my need.
