When Beloit says that they promise to meet all financial need, what does that mean?
I received a merit scholarship (eaton) and am waiting for the rest of my financial aid package. When Beloit says they will meet all need does that really mean what it says? I guess I’m feeling skeptical…will they meet it through loans? or what… financial aid is SO confusing.

According to the US New Premium Online Edition, Beloit does meet 100% of need. They give the majority of it as grants (average grant is $14,245 for 2004); self-help aid, not including private loans or plus loans is $4597 for all students. For first year students, average self-help aid (stafford/perkins loans and workstudy) is $3802 for 2004.

Your Eaton Scholarship will likely be part of your grant portion. Your need, which is determined when you subtract your EFC from your total college costs, will be met by the EAton, and perhaps other grants along with self-help.

Of course when you get the financial aid package this will all be clear, but maybe this will help a little.
