I got in the school but there was nothing about financial aid in the package I got.

Does that mean that I don't get any financial aid?!

no they send it separately....expect it in three days or so

Zelda ~ why three days? Did the admissions/FA office tell you this? I've been sort of wondering when the last letters with some sort of merit aid might be mailed...do you have any idea?

My dad called the Financial Aid Office to ask what my package was, and I am a Presidential winner and they hadn't made the package yet. They said they would review everything by the end of the week and send the packages out early next week.

Unless that thing is a miracle, though, there's no way I can afford to go to USC on only half-tuition scholarship. I know I should be feeling lucky, but considering I worked my ass off all through high school just to attend my local state school in the end, I am not feeling very grateful.

um i said three days because that's what is was for me... ahaha

It was 3 days for me as well

Its been a week for me and nothing yet.....
USC did request some additional forms so maybe thats why its taking so long....hope i get it before mid-april.

Velaen ~ I remember you from the Olin forum. You made it to the first CW, didn't you? My son did not make it that far, he was rejected outright at the start. Congrats on making it so far, and also on the Presidential! Can you give us your stats?

Sure. I don't remember my SATs exactly (over 700 but not over 750 in each category), but I got a 35 on my ACT (we're bigger on that over here). GPA is a 3.98 unweighted, I'm an AP scholar (passed 3 AP exams with an average of 4 or higher) from last year and am taking 5 more AP classes this year. Hmm...National Merit Finalist, too.

Extracurriculars: Started the debate team at my school, student produced the musical for 2 years, student directed the play, went to Nationals for three years in Congress or debate, peer tutored, volunteered for two summers at a day care.

Yeah, I did make it to CW, but then I got rejected, so in the long run it's all the same. I consoled myself with the rejection because I thought maybe I was just meant to go to USC - but now I can't go to either. It is rather depressing.

Make sure you check http://sig.usc.edu and login (or make an account) and then check out your financial aid area... I realized they needed like 5000 forms from me before they could give me a financial aid (i turned them in all late however... which sucks (i forgot about the site's existance) i don't think they are going to give you anything until you figure out you sent all of your forms or not.
