I got in OOS and WM is now one of my top choices. I probably won't get too much need based aid. Can anyone tell me about the school's merit based aid? Can I really expect to get anything? Maryland gave me an 8k per year presidential scholarship, but I didn't get much at all from Rutgers or Penn State. Also, does anyone know when financial aid decisions are released?

My stats are good but not amazing:
3.7
~5/175 (rank unreported to school)
1430, 2210

going back to OP's question, does anyone have any info on WM financial aid? I know that people who got major scholarships like the Monroe have already been notified, but is there anything else?

The 3.7 is weighted. My EC's are pretty good, same for my recs. Really though I'm just an average white kid from the north...sometimes you just get lucky i guess.

W & M is a state school. If you did not receive one of the 2 awards that have money directly tied to them then you will not be getting any "merit" money. The Monroe Scholar has a $3000 stipend for summer research. The other two awards (names I can't remember) have merit money attached. One of the awards goes to about 20 students and you needed to be nominated by your school. The other one goes to qualified students who will bring diversity to the college. Other money in the form of grants, loans, and wowrk-study is need based. The school will meet about 77% of your need after the EFC with the above pieces. If you did receive one of the awards you would know by now.
