Tulane is my absolute number 1 and I got in EA. I filed my fafsa and CSS and my EFC= 5,600 which is great bc that is a great number for my single mom with a income of 73,000. I used the net calculator on the website and it said that we would have to pay around 20,000 I know this source is not completely accurate but it really scared me lol. Is Tulane generous with the financial aid they give out? Since I would be eligible for the no loan assistance program will they give me less aid bc of this?? Thanks
Because Tulane does not guarantee to meet full need and has a lot of merit awards, their NPC is not so accurate. In a case like this, one has to wait and see what pans out.
No school guarantees to meet full need as defined by EFC, so getting that need met without a lot of merit awards and/or a low sticker priced school would be very difficult.
We found Tulane to be very generous and fortunately they were able to meet full need for my D. However, that doesn’t happen for everyone and you need to keep in mind that they will adjust what they think your need is based on the additional information in the CSS, not just use the FAFSA EFC.
