Hello, I’m curious if anyone knows when UF will be notifying people about their financial aid packages. Any estimated dates would be nice to know.
I emailed financial aid advisor. She stated at the beginning of April they will be mailing out award letters . She said students would get an email to check online as well. I am hoping by end of this week so my son can decide between schools.
“Priority is given to students who meet the March 15th “on-time” application deadline. SFA will begin the award notification process in late March and will continue to mail award letters throughout the spring and summer months. Merit scholarships are not awarded by SFA. Students are notified by the various offices or departments that are responsible for recipient selection. For more information see SFA’s Aid Programs page.”

You should know before May 1st. They could start as early as next week.
Financial aid is posted for new freshman. they offered us all kinds of loans. For out-of-state way too much. My son will be going to FSU with his scholarship there. Good luck everyone.
Just viewed the financial aid I received. Does anyone know how much tuition costs per semester? And if you receive outside scholarships can they take money from the grants they offered me from financial aid?
They offered a few loans, which I will not be taking but I think the amount of money they gave me should cover tuition because that’s basically what I need… But I’m not sure how much each semester costs. Any insight on this?
@itstamara The current Tuition+fee rate by credit hour is $210.43.
That comes out to $6,312.90 for a year (30 credits).
@Gator88NE Thank you! So it would be a total of $6,312.90 for the Fall and Spring term? Or for one semester?
@itstamara That’s total for two semesters.
Outside Scholarships may affect your financial aid package. Hopefully, if they reduce your aid package, it’s the amount of loans that will be reduced and not the grants, but it’s up to UF.
@Gator88NE Oh gosh, I really hope they take from the loans. If I deny the loans they offered me, that would reduce the amount of money I received so could the outside scholarships compensate for that or would they still take from the grants they offered me?
@itstamara Contact your Financial Aid advisor. Based on the last two digits of your UF ID, you can see which advisor you should contact. See the link below.

Right now they are crazy busy, so if you don’t reach them on the phone, try sending an e-mail.
Okay thank you!!
I’m gonna hijack this thread real quick for a related question
I have already received my financial aid package, consisting only out of grants…
Question is, I also wanted to receive loans from my FASFA… Will I still get loans added to my financial aid package or should that have already happened and I should call the Financial Aid Office? (I checked yes on the consideration of Federal Direct loans on the Financial Aid Status page in ISIS)
Contact the Financial Aid Office. You should have been offered enough, in grants, scholarships, work study and loans to cover COE (in-state, that’s around $19K) If you recently checked yes to be considered for Federal loans, you may need to wait for a few days before your financial aid package updates. Hopefully, you have enough in scholarships and grants so you don’t need much in the way of loans.
