<p>What happens if you say that you do not need financial aid and then apply after you are accepted?</p>
<p>Because schools have FA budgets with a predetermined amount of money they are going to disburse each year (even the ones with the dep pockets maintain a budget), most of the money is already disbursed and you may end up not getting as much as you could have gotten in grants/scholarships had you applied by the deadline. You could get a package where they offer you a lot of loans.</p>
<p>but remember next year you could get a lot more.</p>
