Financial Aid

I’m having a problem and I’m freaking out.
So I got in ED, but I didn’t realize earlier that I was supposed to fill out financial aid forms beforehand. Can I still apply for that now or am I locked into the massive tuition? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The only reason you can get out of a binding ED commitment is if you cannot financially afford to go. So you are not locked into paying full tuition if you can’t afford it. I would advise you to call the financial aid office first thing Monday and explain your situation and see what your options are. You may also need to talk with the Admissions office as well because once you accept ED admissions, you are bound to withdraw all other applications.

Usually you don’t have to respond to your ED acceptance (and withdraw other apps) until you see your FA package. But you have messed up and not done your part on this. Assuming you did check on the Common App that you are applying for FA, work with your parents this weekend to start getting the materials ready as stated on the NW FA website, including the CSS profile. Call the FA office and admissions on Monday, too. Don’t withdraw other apps at this time.

If you haven’t done it yet, it is worthwhile to run the net price calculator on the NW website FA page to see if you are even likely to get any aid.
