<p>Hey guys, I just had a few questions about financial aid. How is Notre Dame with financial aid in realtion to other universities comparable to it (like, for instance, the University of Chicago)? Do they take extenuating cirumstances (like family business debt or a home mortgage) into account in any way other than the CSS Profile and FAFSA? Also, if you've already been admitted through EA, when do you usually find out the amount of your aid award? Sorry for pulling a round of twenty questions on you guys, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!</p>
<p>I didn't qualify for aid, so I don't know all that much, but here is what I do know. ND is known for being very generous with need based aid and my gut tells me that they probably will beat out UChicago there. They use their own profile for aid so they do look at more than just the CSS or FAFSA. I have heard that it is especially generous if you have other kids in private schools. Anyways, I hope that helps some at least.</p>
