Financial Aid?

Just out of curiosity, when do EA admitted students get their conditional aid package in the mail if they filed the CSS by 11/15 and the tax returns by the 1/1 deadline? Thanks.

I called the financial aid office last week. They said sometime in late January.

are the only things that BC requires for aid the CSS profile and the Fafsa

I applied EA and my mom still has to send in all Financial Aid stuff tomorrow. Who knows when we'll send the tax return stuff. =/

we got our "estimate" last week, and by "estimate" i mean a letter that said "we cannot offer you financial aid at this time".

what. the. fuzz.

i guess bc is out of the question now...

Yeah, I got a wonderful $3,000 loan and $2,000 work study package. What the hell. My parents make about $100,000 combined in a high cost of living area, but we can afford to spent $50,000 of that for one year of college?

Anyone know anything about how generous BC's appeals process is?

BC is not known for generous financial aid for any family making six figure income or family that has assets either. A close friend of mine has a FAFSA's EFC of $3000, but because her family paid off their home and her family has investment and saving, BC sent her a $22,000 bill. It's one of the reason why BC is filled of preppy and wealthy students (we aren't know as the J-Crew Catalog Campus for nothing). BC is generous to students from low-income family.

i got my package last week. i was accepted and sent everything in on time. too bad we got absolutely nothing. $4000 in loans and $2200 in workstudy (which im not going to do). i really wanna go to bc but i have to wait until villanovas package comes, and lehigh if i get accepted.
ive heard bc is pretty stingy when it comes to need based and doesnt do any favors

I would disagree with all of you about BC's FinAid, i think it is fair. But thats because BC gave me 33,400 in scholarship and 4000 in federal grant and 2000 in work study and 5000 in loan, which add up to 45,000 in total package.

yes, but would it be safe to assume that you are not an average middle-class family? because we're the ones who get screwed.

yeah, ive heard that low-income families get all the aid they would ever need. but if you are middle-class/upper-middle-class you get completely screwed over. according to them, my family can afford 44,500 a year plus the almost 50,000 that my parents are paying for my brothers med school

i dont know how much my parents make, but its a little rediculous to expect anyone whos not a millionaire to play 100,000 a year. i also dont like how on the college board thing, they ask for house value.. but thats not bc's fault. my moms gonna try and call to go over some things so we can get more money.

Hey u never no, maybe ur parents make around 200k, then ....
