is there a reason i only got a $15,000 grant and $12,000 in loans?
i did it exactly and it came out to 56% grant and 44% loans.
on the collegeboard website, it says the aid averages 70% grants and 30%loans and i see this other girl getting $30,000 grant and like $5,000 in loans.
im not saying i want to see other people in debt with me but how does cornell judge who gets all the grants and who gets all the loans?
is it because theyre "smarter"? doubt it.
does it matter what college?
i mean, i can understand a little deviation from the average but when it comes close to 50/50 in grants/loans as opposed to 70/30, thats bull.
why does cornell decide to put some kids in debt and give others free money?
i feel like showing off my full ride to rutgers right in front of their faces but i also dont want my acceptance to be rescinded. lol

does anyone know if it matters what my parents filled out on the profile that determines my grant/loan ratio...i thought that just determined how much they can afford and cornell makes up the difference with grants/loans and that ratio was irrelevant to how much my parents make or whatever since student loans are what im going to have to pay back...and i dont feel like being 60,000 to 70000 in debt

Everyone gets different financial Aid package based on their needs.
Don't worry cornell is not cheating you in anyway. Giving out financial aid is based on the need formula! Some students get more money than others because their parents income level is lower or they their household has more members going to college. Also the grants section is grants not only from cornell but from different places including scholarships. So you shouldn't really complain abot other getting more money than you.
Some students at cornell don't pay anything!
