<p>It's per year. Just keep in mind that those charts are averages and often don't account for important details like family size and other assets. On the other hand, I did find that at the 100% need schools, the charts were pretty close to the awards we received -- so I think they give you a good indication as to a likely award, even though it is no guarantee.</p>
