Can indicating that you are applying for fin aid on an application hurt you in the admissions process ?

If it is a non-need blind school, then yes. If you do not a superior applicant worthy of merit aid, then, if you can be replaced with an equally qualified candidate who does not need aid, in all likelyhood you will be.

But at need blind schools, this isn't the case. Need blind or to a lesser extent "need sensitive" schools examine you regardless of financial aid, which is done in a different office, is almost totally unrelated, and is determined without knowledge of your application status.

What if your family is 100K+ ?

For example, my family makes 100K+, but my parents were told to apply for financial aid at all my schools.
Is this bad ? Obviously the schools know I have enough to pay, so Idk how that would affect their decision...

Can someone please let me know...

what schools ARENT need blind???

Most schools aren't need blind. People who make $100K often get some aid.

I doubt I'll get any aid... I don't really even care about the $, my question is just whether it would impact my admission decision.
