Financial Aid

Apparently I screwed up and submitted my fafsa on February 9. My parents didn't have a PIN when I applied so I selected an option that what I thought would submit it and enter in the pin number later. After checking my status, it seems it didn't get completed until the 9th which was when my mom got her PIN. The bottom line is it appears my FAFSA was late. I submitted the CSS/PROFILE on time. Will I still get financial aid? Am I ****ed?

EDIT: Ehh, I meant that it was "processed" by the 9th and completed 1/31.

The people in financial aid are great, and they really go to bat for people. Obviously making the deadlines is better than missing them, but you clearly started the process in a timely fashion. If you are nervous, you can always email financial aid and relate incident. I'm sure they will say not to concern yourself. They are looking for ways to help, not hinder your progress.

I don't know if this is true, but I have heard that most schools will accept your financial aid info even if it is late, but the disadvantages are that there is only so much money to be awarded and "the early bird gets the worm". So, there may be less money to be awarded.
If it makes you feel any better ( the misery loves company theory ), I was in the same situation, but I was waiting for PINs and tax info too!!

chacha: yeah, what most schools have is a priority date which is the date by which the greatest amount of money to go to you is available. after that date, money starts to drain
