how is penn with financial aid? if you are ed and were offered financial aid, what do you think of it? was there a considerable amount of grants or was much of it loans? financial aid will be a concern if i manage to get in.

bump...anyone?

also, how is your parents retirement used? css profile and penn's own form asked for our parents retirement money. is it used against us if there is a lot.

Last year Penn gave my friend $0. I think Columbia also gave him nothing. Stanford gave him half, but if his parents made a little more then they would start looking at assets and his aid would drop down to nearly $0. He had to go to that scholarship school instead.

is there anyone else that can tell me anything? also, venkat89, do you know what your friend's efc was?

HOw in the world am I supposed to know my friend's EFC? Most people aren't going to publicly share their EFC and aid statements. Some may say whether they felt it was more money or more loans, but not much more.

my interviewer told me that penn wasn't very good with giving out aid
but they do have a financial initiative if your adjusted gross income is below $45k
