<p>I'm in the same boat as lala, and would also appreciate the insight.</p>
<p>McGill has relatively little financial aid, and I do not believe it is need-based,
especially for Americans. There are minor grants of $3000 and major $10000 grants, but they are not used to lure students as in the US. My d. was way above the listed minimums and did not receive any aid.</p>
<p>There is work/study and that is needs based. </p>
<p>Under new Canadian law, international students can get off-campus work for the first-time.</p>
<p>do you know what time of year applicant's hear back about entrance scholarships? I didn't necessarily apply for the big one, but I was wondering if we hear back about the little one ($3000).</p>
