I am trying to make my final decisions right now between USC and UCLA but can't justify spending more than double. I was rather disappointed with what usc offered me, my parents are by no means rich and they offered me about 6k. however even this was just loans and a grant if I got a job so was close to nothing. From what i've read on the boards it sounds like you're all getting amazing financial aid and something just doesn't seem right. any advice?

what's your EFC if you don't mind me asking? i am also choosing between UCLA and USC but USC hasn't given me my financial aid and i'm scared they won't give my family enough money.

Hey man sorry I don't have that figure as my dad is out of town, but my mom doesn't work and he makes about 90k a year. This makes 47 a year seem very daunting and UCLA's around 23K very appealing. I need some input because I only have a couple weeks left. My parents say don't choose over money, but at the same time coming out of school with 160k debt is not what i'm looking forward to.

RJK

I have two sons going to college this fall. each had an EFC of 12K. USC was very generous with a 28K grant to the son going there

oh that's good to hear. i have two brothers going to CSU Northridge right now but my EFC is still 14k, but my parents won't be able to even pay that much. I hope the CSS magically makes my EFC go down at least a little bit
