Financial Aid

I hear if youre a NYS resident u still end up paying more for tuition if you're in one of the contract colleges and eligible for fin aid than you would at one of the endowed colleges?
for example.. if youre an NYS resident with an EFC of 0... would you end up paying more for one of the contract colleges or for one of the private colleges?

I'm a nys resident accepted to a contract college and with an efc of 0. They gave me a fin aid package with about 12k in loans/workstudy and parent/student contributions of over 10k. The only grants they gave me were the tap and pell grants. I'm trying to appeal.

how do you appeal?
what do you say/do exactly?

sexy123,

since u're more than willing to waste 30 credits to transfer from ur current SUNY to Cornell, I'm assuming you should have enough money to handle the tuition.

-no offense here, but simply puzzled by the nature of ur thread.

nancy
i find it intriguing that you are so fascinated with my personal life
thanks for your help

"waste 30 credits"
please elaborate?
NO credits are "wasted" in the process, they all transfer whether they qualify as required credits or simply electives….so I don’t really understand your logic here, nothing you said bears any relevance to what was being asked!

I’m rather “puzzled” by the nature of your post, nancy...

acerbic,

I happened to have read some of sexy123's posts from the transfer forum. In those threads, she mentioned her wish to give up 30 extra course credits that would not be transferrable to Cornell b/c she has already accumulated 90credits at this pt to come to Cornell. And obviously no school accepts more than 70 transfer credits; Cornell, in this case, takes only 60.
So if someone is willing to give up 30 points, which is worth >= $10,000, I'd assume that person has the financial capability to pay the tuition.
I apologize if this has not much to do w/ the topic of this thread, I was only curious, that's all.

LOL! well said, nancy.

what about fin aid 4 intls?is da situation as bad as they say?
