How is the financial aid at skidmore? I've heard it's sub-par compared to many schools, and I was wondering how true this is. For what it's worth, my family would need quite a lot of aid for me to be able to attend the school. Is it worth it even applying?

my daughter was considering Skidmore last year and was told that the FinAid department has a form which a possible applicant can fill out to find out what type of financial aid would be available. Nothing is binding but it did give us an idea of what it might be. if i remember correctly, it was on the mark as the EFC estimation we did on college board.

My daughter received the most financial aid from Skidmore of all the schools but it was also the most expensive. Ultimately, it was a wash. Skidmore doesn't give scholarships (merit) so you play the financial aid game each year. I guess it could work to your advantage if tuition goes up and income goes down. On the flip side, a scholarship can remove uncertainty each year
