Financial aid

all my requirements have been fulfilled and there's no information on any aid till now. My fafsa efc is really low.
I was wondering- when does UIUC inform students about aid?

They say we should receive our information on aid by the end of March at the latest.

how did u apply for the FAFSA…onlu US citizens or eligible non citizens can??..where did u get an SSN

I am an US citizen thus i have always had an SSN.

end of march- thanks Dvm.

You are given a SSN when you are born. I am not sure about the other procedures for naturalized citizens. Generally, I think that you can only apply for FAFSA if you’re eligible for a SSN.

You are not giving a Social Security Number at birth.

My folks applied for a Ssn before I left the hoapital

I was just able to look at my financial aid using my NetID and using the Enterprise system. Maybe it will work for you guys.

how do u get the enterprise id stuff and the net id???

Go here:

https://netidclaim.uiuc.edu/claim/claim.fcgi</a></p>

Then go to https://www-s4.uiuc.edu/bluestem/login.cgi?cacheid=1205808419-19263&return=68747470733a2f2f6561732e61646d696e2e75696c6c696e6f69732e6564752f626c75657374656d2f6c625f6c6f67696e2e6367692f6561732f736572766c65742f456173426c75657374656d5265736574&msg=&prior=</a> to use your NetID to create your EnterpriseID.

Once you get your EnterpriseID, go to https://eas.admin.uillinois.edu/eas/servlet/EasLogin?redirect=https://webprod.admin.uillinois.edu/ssa/servlet/SelfServiceLogin?appName=edu.uillinois.aits.SelfServiceLogin&dad=BANPROD1</a> to check your financial aid status.

I know this is a more complicated process, but U of I didn’t create the system with the intention of us using it yet, but I found a way. :)

go to Find People on the uiuc homepage and type in your name

just got my FA aid information in the mail (I’m instate). I heard that a friend of a friend also got her’s before Easter (so I assume Saturday). So it should be in the mail for everyone else.

I was very dissapointed with my FA package. All loans. All of it. Good luck to the rest of you though, but for me, UIUC is not really an option.

keep an eye on those mailboxes.

My son’s FA package arrived Friday or Saturday and we are OOS. I didn’t expect much in terms of aid - and there wasn’t much. The bulk was a PLUS loan.

^ horrible horrible finaid package for me - bye bye UIUC

ditto on the all loans…it is a sad thing when I can go to ND or Vanderbilt for substantially cheaper than my home in-state university

bye UIUC…poor oos business kid=me…no way i’m getting a $42400 Loan for 4 yrs…I’m going to Kelley!!! Go IU!

Isn’t UIUC having a 10% tuition increase? Darn, what the hell is happening. If they keep increasing the tuition (and in-state tuition I heard is still pretty bad) good students will look elsewhere.

Last year my brother applied for FA quite late, June I think. We were surprised at how generous they were. We figured given the poor timing, he’d get close to nothing or just loans. Reading this makes me a little nervous to see how his aid goes this year. Then again, maybe it doesn’t change much for returning students, I have no idea. :p

All loans for me too. It’s now more expensive than U-Miami, one of the most expensive colleges out there, with a total cost of attendance at $48,000. It’s cheaper because of SCHOLARSHIPS.

SCHOLARSHIPS=What I should have gotten as a James Scholar if UIUC wanted me as a student.

oh well.

financial aid package = CRAP. with my efc of $194. i could come up with the fin aid offered right out of my bank account!!! ***!!!
