I have two questions:

When will I hear from AU about my federal financial aid package?

Is it possible for me to get a merit scholarship still if I did not receive one when I got my letter of admission?

Thanks!

your financial aid package should have come as hard copy in your acceptance package (usually right side in folder) and on your accepted student portal. merit aid is offered in same way...online and in acceptance package. good luck.

Has anybody experience with negotiate for more scholarship money from AU? I know that schools don't like to here that but that it is not uncommon. AU is my #1 choice but I still struggle with the $$$ I got a $22000 scholarship, which I'm really excited about and I know it's already a lot of money but since I'm int'l I can't apply for Fin Aid even though I really need it. Does somebody know about if it is possible to negotiate for more $ from AU?

kadi, I know that it is possible to get extra money if you negotiate right, but it will be very difficult for you to do so, as you already got a 22000 dollar scholarship. At this point, I think your chances at getting aid are pretty low, so I think loans are your best option.

You can always call them up and try though I suppose.

Thanks, I figured. I'm going to meet with somebody from the int'l admissions office and see what they say. A loan is probably my only option. Does anybody know about good loans for int'l students (one that doesn't require a US Cosigner)? I know there are a lot out there but I really have no idea where to start and what to pay attention on.
