financial aid

@ all who received financial aid packet:

How did they send it? By regular mail/express mail / courier/...........??

normal mail.

I got my financial aid information through an email. It was better than what I had expected. BTW, I am an international.

My friend got only $7000 from Georgetown and her EFC is $17,000. There is no way her parents can pay $30000+ for her education, despite how much she wants to go to Georgetown and has worked so hard throughout highschool. How is Georgetown when it comes to negotiating financial aid? Has anyone done it and what was the result? Any other suggestions would be very helpful.

BUMP this thread up! :D

Don't you think it's kind of gloomy how Gtown doesn't send a fancy folder and big packet for acceptances/financial aid? FA at least...GW sends embossed sparkly folders!

Basically if I do work study, I only have to pay $690 a year. Which is amazing. They even lowered my deposit fee from $900 to $100. This only makes my decision so much harder.

@Sungchul -- How did they lower your deposit fee? Did you request them or they decided it based upon your need?

Honestly, I don't know. My mom basically told me to leave the financial stuff to her, so I really don't know anything about the process. At the end the letter with my family's contribution and award received, it says, "Based upon your family's ability to contribute to your Georgetown education, the amount of you deposit is $100." That's as much as they say about.

hey sungchul or anyone else that is an international student…what was your income? I’m trying to figure out how much money I’m gona get from Georgetown. Im really scared because im suuper low income so I need a lot of money!
