How good is Cornell's Financial Aid assistance? I still haven't received my yet.

If you're low income...it's not bad

If you're middle income and up....not so great

this is vibe I'm getting from the posts on the forum thus far.....

Not to hijack the thread, but what percent of a parents income do they (Cornell) expect them to pay?

depends on the EFC that they calculate...the EFC is a function of income and assets.

my S is currently a soph. and our finaid for the past 2 years has been no surprise--our efc was around 10,000 and thats what we had to pay both years--S had what i thought was a generous grant of over 22,000. plus some other smaller awards and even smaller loans--we have been happy with their aid so far--i am interested to see what his junior year aid will look like since our D is going to be a freshman @ ithaca coll.--let me tell you--THEIR finaid leaves much to be desired!!

D should have studied more!

Or D can always transfer.

your EFC should go down a lot since you'll have another child in school.

My parents' EFC my 1st year was $17,000 and once my bro entered college last year it went down to $9,600 and stayed there this year as well.

cayuga--don't i wish!! she's just as bright just not nearly as motivated!!

dewdrop--i'm hoping to see that!!
