I have a question about whether i should apply early decision next fall.
I have heard that ed usually ends up with less financial aid. Does this no loans policy if your parents make under 60000 still apply for ed and the state sided schools? I would fit into this bracket. I dont think i will be able to get in without early decision.

The new aid policy applies to everyone, even ED kids. I don't think ED kids get less financial aid. The only downside to ED financially is that you cannot compare aid packages with other schools if you are accepted to your ED school. I'm also pretty sure that the only way to break the ED binding commitment is if you tell them you a absolutely cannot go because the university did not offer you enough aid. If you are totally set on Cornell as your number one choice, go ahead and apply ED. Only a few schools have the new aid program Cornell does, so you will probably get a good package from them compared to other schools you would have applied to (unless you got merit scholarships possibly).
