<p>Depends on the school. </p>
<p>Some schools say they are need blind, meaning they will not look at your financial aid situation when making the decision. Once the kids are accepted then financial aid is awarded. You may or may not get the financial aid you need/want to attend.</p>
<p>Other schools realizing they only have so much aid to give will state outright that a request for financial aid puts an applicant into a more competitive applicant pool.</p>
