Has anyone else here not gotten their financial aid offer yet? I already enrolled... but it'd be nice to know what i'm gonna get for aid. Also, have any out of state students gotten their financial aid yet? If you did, do you get anything... even a couple thousand in grants or any other non-loan aid?

i dint get my aid decision officially yet but i called them like 2 times. first time i was told tht i cannot be told the decision unitl it is released. i called the same day again and got hold of another operator and told her tht i have ti decide between colleges and if she cud give me an idea of the aid iwill be getting. she told me tht i will be getting 13k grant but it isnt official yet

13k in grants?!?!!

I got my decision on Friday April 29, 2005 and I'm out-of-state. I got 1k in a grant, 1k in a scholarship, 2.4k work study and the out-of-state tuition waiver.

so hook em are u going there

I'm probably going to make the decision at 11:59 tonight :(

Ironically Columbus and Austin are playing at this very moment in Arena Football. Should I take this as a sign? Should I base my college decision on a football game? :D

Wow, my college decision came down to a last second field goal. Austin beat Columbus 58 to 55 lol ;)

Sadly I couldn't make a decision on UT because of their financial delay. I was offered Plan II but was basically forced to reject it. Called them twice and they only said to check website and would be up AMPLE time before decisions had to be made. :(:(:(:(:(:(

Why didn't you get financial aid? When did you submit the FAFSA??? All the decisions should be out by now with the E-FAN

Yes hookem, I believe that is a sign from God.

no, no , I DID submit the FAFSA. On the website, it says that my application is complete but is not available yet. I submitted teh fafsa way before teh deadline and have gotten all my fin aid from all other colleges except UT.

D's merit scholarship was just posted on the "cash" site today.

Which one did she get...I got some Maggie Dee Stell Endowed Scholarship Fund one...anyone heard of that???

She got the guaranteed national merit scholar one. We don't qualify for any financial aid. We always knew she'd get this one, I only posted so that others here would see that the scholarship people are moving along...

Well congrats...is she going to UT after all??

Islandmom, 1) we are also waiting for the National Merit Finalist acknowlegement. We didn't do FAFSA. Hopefully that doesn't come into play. I never thought it would.

2) On the phone they said s was accepted to the honors dorms. Is there any other verification? On the web or in writing?

mdtracie, thanks for the congrats. She finally decided that she just couldn't pass on Plan II. So it looks like my first to leave the nest will be a longhorn. Little d (9years old) insists she will be a longhorn, too.

Texdad, I'll check again but I don't think that there's any special indication on the website as to what sort of housing she'll be assigned to. I'm just taking Ms Hatcher's word for it (at the housing center). If I find something different I will post.

I'm really glad your son is taking an interest in applying himself in college. Sounds like he's always had the brains for it, just not the incentive. I was A LOT like that in high school. But your s turned it around in time to get in a good school. Way to go!

my son is also national merit finalist ... as i understand as long as you give the nmsc UT as first choice, you automatically get the approx 13k over 4 years ...... son was also offered engineering school scholarship ... we wouldnt meet need based, but is there some site i shoudl be reviewing for financial aid.."cash" site??. also out of state tuition waiver isnt a bad deal

This is how I get to the aid info. (More computer savvy people might get you there faster with the direct internet address.)

go to bealonghorn.com. log in with the eid and password.

go to lower right of that screen and click on the "view your complete message" link.

then, on the next screen go to the bottom and click on "financial aid" link.

then on the next screen click on the message in the upper left box that says something like "my financial aid" It's all right there. Hope this works for you.

Thanks, Islandmom. Never would have found it without the detailed instructions. Adult onset ADD.

Hey what Island are you talking about anyway?
