Yale's website says financial aid stuff is due November 3 for EA (I applied EA).

This doesn't seem right. Isn't financial aid stuff usually due Februaryish?

Many schools have priority deadlines for students applying EA. Usually the Profile and/or a school financial aid form are due in November. Often schools will give EA students an estimated financial aid package not long after their acceptance (if they are accepted).

I’m not sure what a late filing on this means to Yale, but for many schools it means that your financial aid application will not be processed until the Regular decision financial aid is processed (if you are accepted). If you are hoping to make an early decision about college, this means you potentially could have an acceptance and not a financial aid package…I know that I wouldn’t make a final selection without that financial aid package.

Call Yale and find out what to do. They will either tell you to get the ap done immediately, or they will tell you that your financial aid will be processed with the RD ones.

And in the meantime, check the DEADLINES for all of your other schools. They will vary from school to school. Some will have January DEADLINES. Don’t assume they are Februaryish. Each college website had a financial aid section and the DEADLINES are clearly posted there. Don’t miss the DEADLINES.

Thanks, thumper.
