Financial Aid?

I think I made out pretty well for NYU. I got 28k in grants, 4k in work study, and 22k in loans. I’m extremely tempted to take it…but my EFC is 0…but if I work hard enough…ARGHHHHHH

I cant check my online finaid, the pin number wont send.

https://ofaas02.reg.nyu.edu/NetPartnerStudent/logon.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2FNetPartnerStudent%2FPgHome.aspx

Has that NetPartner site been working for anyone? I tried that same site tkd2009 used to no avail…

that site should work. The password is NOT the same as for http://home.nyu.edu and you don’t use the same login either, it’s your N______ nyu ID number

Yeah I used my NYU ID number and it says that there is no email on file and to contact the financial aid office.

Is the J. Eckhouse Scholarship need based or merit based? Anyone know?

in the letter it says that the financial aid will only be available online starting april 2nd… so id try again then

It won’t let me login either, Im having the same problem. It doesn’t say anything in my letter about financial aid though.

I’m relieved that I’m not the only one that didn’t recieve any information on financial aid through the packet. I tried checking online through Nettracker using the nyuid and I recieved the same notification about my email not being able to be verified.

It’s good to hear that it’s not just me!

o efc = 30K grants…is that normal? i received 40k from other schools to just in grants…is that normal, low, or high?

I think it’s normal for NYU. My EFC is 0, and I got 32k in grants.

Woohoo! Other people got funny-lookin’ packets with zero financial aid info. I read the whole packet up and down and saw that they would send the rest later or something. I wonder if it’s good like the other colleges?

i got about 30k scholarship and grants
4k work study
the rest is loans.

are most students in nyu on loans? and is it worth it to be so in debt when one graduates?

I got a CAS scholarship and I assumed it wasnt renewable for all 4 years because the top of the page only said 2009-10. I called the financial aid office and the guy basically told me that they dont do renewable except they give you that amount every year if you keep in good standing??? I’m just a little confused because it isn’t in writing!!

Anyone confused about this too???

As long as you are in good standing and your FAFSA doesn’t change year to year, then you can expect to get similar amount every year.

i didnt file fafsa!! it was merit based!! thoughts?? someone told me that because of the recession they’re only doing one year at a time.

As far as I was concerned it is always one year at a time unless specified otherwise.

I have four questions regarding my financial aid award.

1) The award letter that I received, which consists of “Trustee Scholarship, Federal Work Study, Stafford Loan, Unsubsidized STafford Loan, and PLUS Loan”, states that it is based on the assumption that I will be living on campus. How will my awards change if I become a commuter? If it does change, who do I contact for details?

2) I was awarded a trustee scholarship for 2009-2010 only. Will this scholarship be carried over for the remaining three years of my attendance at NYU provided that I have good academic standings?

3) I cannot find any information that describes what a trustee scholarship is on the website. Where can I find some more information regarding this scholarship?

4) What is the required GPA (Preferably on the 4.0 Scale) that is required to continue receiving the Trustee Scholarship?

Thanks, and reply quickly! :D

Any financial aid letters yet from the people who didn’t get it with their admissions packet?

I’m still waiting on mine. But I’m constantly checking the mail box and my email for anything.
