Financial Aid

I will be attending Northwestern University next year. I did not apply for any financial aid (and hence have not received any), but due to unforeseen circumstances after enrolling, may need some next year. Is it possible to receive financial aid for sophomore year? I have read that they evaluate financial aid every year... confirmation? Also, what is the average amount of financial aid a student receives at Northwestern?

Thanks for your help.

Got some information regarding the average financial aid package from USNews in case anybody would like to know:

Average financial aid package for full-time, first-year students: $28,058

You apply for Financial Aid each year, so yes, you can apply for FA Sophmore year. If you run into finanacial trouble during the school year, make sure you notify NU, there may be aid available for you this year.

All FA Recipients - Remember to check your NU Ceasar account for TO DO lists - I was able to do the Stafford Loan Counseling. It’s online counseling that must be completed before they will continue the process of the loan. I also had other things listed, but didn’t go into those links just yet.
