Is it really that bad?

How bad do you think it is?

For me, I got zero!

well it really depends on your FAFSA. I got about 15k for Stern Scholars and about 23k in aid total. They didn't quite meet my so called "need", but they almost did. So, it could be better, but I'm thankful.

But then again I've heard the horror stories about ppl getting nothing...

Don't count on anything close to a full ride, it aint happenin, but they will meet the need determied by FASFA if they want you bad enough

i had an ok experience with NYU.... im getting about 16k per year in pure grant and the rest of my need is met with loans and work study. overall im paying about the same as it would cost to attend a public school in california. so my experience was the same at NYU as with all other private schools.

oh! and we asked them for more money after i got my initial package and they were able to increase my grant by 2k per year!
