financial aid

kay first question..do students apply for aid each year?
and..
the next question:
for the first year, let's say my parents can pay more for my college expenses because of RESP
but the next year, they can't...
would cornell be generous enough to give me more aid than the previous year....?

also in which section of the css profile should i include the RESP value?
parent contribution?

oops by the way i’m canadian and in canada an RESP (registered education savings plan) is an education plan, which is used to pay for university

Students must apply for financial aid every year. The financial aid office will adjust your award based on your latest tax information. So, if your family’s financial situation worsens, Cornell will very likely give you more money. However, keep in mind that Cornell also requires a “student contribution”, which is basically money they expect you to earn over the summer and contribute to your education. For freshmen it’s something like $2,000, and the amount increases for older students.
