Is Georgetown typically generous in their financial aid packages? If one gets in EA, when do they receive their financial aid package?

You apply for financial aid in february…its on the admissions site

Very generous. In April President DeGoia made a decision to direct 100% of the Georgetown Fund to scholarships/financial aid… so there’s more money for incoming students. It’s all need based. So I mean like… you have to be reasonable when seeing how much you may get. 80% of Georgetown students come from a family that makes 100,000 and over. The rest for the most part come from a family that makes 60,000 and under. Those are the students getting the aid. I’m actually getting a full ride. But for example, I have friends who come from a family of doctors and though their income is high, Georgetown doesn’t take into consideration the medical school bills still being paid.

I have a kind of different question but about financial aid. Does anyone know if we can apply for financial aid during the second year of college instead of freshman year?

Yep, I think you can definitely do so.

It’s not like you are set for life once you apply for freshmen year. Financial aid apps need to be applied and re-applied every year. If you decide not to get aid for freshmen year but for your sophomore year, you’d have to start applying for FAFSA and CSS Profile after you are done with first semester of your freshmen year. The applications are up online in January every year.

^ thanks so much Rainlotte!
