Ok, I'm a recently accepted student for early decision at Penn, and I made the mistake of not applying for financial aid. My question is this, is there any way that I can apply for financial aid or something of the sort to help ease the monetary burden off of my parents?
Thanks!

Anyone?

Bump

Call up SFS at (215) 898-1988 and explain the situation. They’re pretty understanding.

Some people think that by applying to a college and indicating that you do not need financial aid that your chances of being accepted are improved. If this true, how would a college respond to someone that has been admitted without requesting FA deciding that they need it? Just a question for future applicants to consider.

Penn’s need-blind so applying for FA doesn’t change your chances of being admitted (if you’re an international student it isn’t need-blind).

I’d call though. If you’re international I doubt they’ll let you apply but if you aren’t, they might. A phone call’s worth 20k a year or whatever you might get!

UPenn publicly stated that they are need blind, so if they have a problem then that is sort of saying that they have not been exactly upfront about their admission policy. So, I think you can call and apply, there is really not much to lose at this point, I believe.
