Is UPenn generous with fin aid?

yes they are

Yes. Coming from a difficult family financial background, it was a great and pleasant surprise for me when I saw my financial aid package after being admitted. Penn really, really makes an effort to offer aid to those who really need it, and I personally think that they are good at judging need (I’m not sure about others, just speaking for myself). Also, the financial aid office staff are really nice, and they always replied to my questions quickly. Also, it is need blind and meets 100% of demonstrated need (at least that’s what it said on their website, and that’s what they did for me). Don’t let financial worries prevent you from applying to Penn. :):)

Yes and no.

I didn’t really get all that I needed imo, but a lot of kids do. Just see what happens

zia, I assume from the location that you’re international? From what I’ve read, Penn meets 100% need for international students that they admit, but they are not need-blind in admissions if you apply for that. So they only give that need-based aid to a handful of extremely qualified international students.
