So I haven’t really seen a thread devoted to financial aid, so I figured I’d start one. I have a question if anyone knows the answer, how long after all the FAFSA forms, and financial aid forms are submitted should we expect to hear back about financial aid?

when my s was accepted two years ago I was under the impression that you had to submit the CSS to be considered for any merit awards. We knew we would not qualify for any need based aid but we had to go through the entire process anyway. It paid off he received a $100,000 Presidential scholarship.

So I just got a pretty good financial aid package last night(about $40,000). But it’s only for one year.
I’m worried that after next year, they will somehow reject all my aid and I’ll have to pay $50,000 for three years?
Am I being paranoid or has anyone heard of this happen before?

just asking out of out of curiosity - if you didn’t fill in the CSS, can you still apply for financial aid later? maybe in the second or third year of college.

I just called the financial aid office as I applied and got accepted to Brandeis, but was unaware that you needed to fill out the CSS profile in order to be eligible for financial aid. i turned in my FAFSA and I just assumed that that was all that I needed, since that was what all the UC schools required. Anyways, they told me to get it in ASAP and that I will still be considered for financial aid. I’m just worried that I won’t be able to receive any of the merit scholarships since I’m late, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
