I was wondering if anyone received notification regarding financial aid yet? The acceptance letter stated we would be notified in a few days.

I haven’t gotten anything yet either. I’m hoping something comes tomorrow.

Im hoping I get a bit of financial aid…or else I wont be able to attend

^sigh. the same here. i’m waiting like forever. i’m nervous because wash.u doesn’t seem to meet 100% demonstrated need, at least not for int’l students.

i think wash u has very nice aid, as they meet 100% need and are ranked 4th on the Princeton Review for financial aid.

I would imagine it’s good aid because if they are need-aware, that obviously frees up money that need-blind schools (some of which are less prestigious than Wash U anyway) would have to give up. So, it’s getting past the need-awareness, once your in you should be fine with fin aid.

Maybe if I hadn’t applied for fin aid, i would have been accepted instead of wait listed. I will never know!

The financial packages are online now http://sfsweb.wustl.edu/sfs/secure.aspx?incoming/inc_login.aspx. They are offering me $48600!

WOW
WashU’s financial aid SURE IS PRETTY GOOD!!!

@bailey654,

You are so lucky, … I got (almost) nothing … I hope Duke does better …

WooHoo!!!

WooHoo???

looks like I got enough… so, WooHoo!!

D got $2000 for national merit finalist; that’s it! I hope HYPS are more generous (if she gets in). If not, the in-state flagship is always an option. I know she will thrive wherever she goes. WashU is great but I guess it’s just not meant to be.

Best wishes, everyone!

Does anyone get a message along the lines of “As of 5 p.m. on March 14th you had no financial assistance award?” I guess what I’m really wondering is if this message means that you don’t qualify for financial assistance of any kind, or if they just haven’t processed your financial aid application yet…

Also, congrats to everyone who’s gotten an award that brings WashU within reach–it’s a great school, no doubt!

I got that message too TomisMom…

@ws!m123
Sorry for the personal question–please feel free to not answer if you don’t want to… But did it look like you wouldn’t be a likely candidate for need-based aid?

I’m… in shock.

My financial aid package is $58,800. Even if I choose not to use work study, that’s at LEAST $2000 in excessive of the most expensive plans. A $2000+ stipend?

@JJParent,

What state is that? It’s looking more and more like I’ll be going to Maryland :/

@musicalscientist,

GREAT for you! I’ve always wanted to get my hands on that old pipe organ they have in the music building, … maybe you can do that for me now … <sigh></sigh>

TomisMom…

Actually, I think our problem is that we were trying to sign in with both our social and WU ID…when I signed in with the latter only it showed me my award…

Maybe this is your problem too?

@plumazul, we are in PA and I was talking about Pitt. We have two flagships Good luck to you!

TomisMom, DS’s FA page is also incomplete. I assume they just haven’t finished up everything for everybody.

But I will add that we did not fall in a need-based aid category, so maybe we’re just supposed to show up with a check?.. :-}
