<p>Mine just says “processing,” although it does do the EFC - COA breakdown. Since our EFC is above the COA, I doubt they’ll grant me anything, but I hope they take the CSS Profile into account and give us a little bit of a break.</p>

<p>We didn’t expect to get FA so only did the college board profile but didn’t do the FAFSA (err…my dad refused to).</p>
<p>However it says that it is processing, will they offer aid even if we didn’t fill out the FAFSA? Also the UNC EFC is $0 but I really doubt that true, is that just what they put if they don’t have a FAFSA or is that based of the college board profile?</p>

<p>Yeah, no FAFSA, no aid. I think the CSS Profile is just like a supplement to the FAFSA and covers a little more ground. I might have to call them and see if they’ll consider adjusting my EFC.</p>
<p>Okay, thanks for clarifying. I don’t <em>need</em> aid anyways. We probably denied it so that someone else could have it if somehow I got aid. I was just confused since mine says processing.</p>
<p>corey91 - Just so you know. If your dad decides that he wants to see is you qualify for any FA. Once you have gone through the pain of filing the CSS Profile you can just paste a lot of the answers from the profile directly into the FAFSA - it takes no time at all. I think the profile even offers the option to fill the FAFSA automatically for you.</p>
<p>Corey- Yeah, at UNC, FA doesn’t work like that. They have enough funds to go around, so if you’re solidly middle class, you might try FAFSA to see if you get an EFC of under $19k. You might barely make the cutoff and get a few hundred or thousand bucks off (hey, every little bit helps, right?). However, if your parents are loaded, you might not need to bother.</p>

<p>I’m guessing it’s still in progress. I think they should be done on April 1st, but the UNC servers are odd, fickle things.</p>
