Financial aid?

still not up…

My daughter’s is not up. We’ve been checking every day since March 20th! We’re out of state and I wonder if that might have something to do with it. We plan to call on Monday if nothing is up by then.

Flinty we are in the same boat and I hate to say it but we won’t wait past next week. He’ll pick another school and be done with it. He got accepted into UNC the first round back in January…and we have heard from all 7 schools including their packages… UNC is the only school that we have had alot of tech issues with from the start…also I notice that when we applied we were told end of March… now the portal note says end of March throughout April… Crazy when you consider every one wants the deposit by May 1st, and many schools like Brown and Bowdoin have their admit days early to mid April…

DCmom, my daughter also did EA and we would like to know if UNC is financially doable before we visit for Explore Carolina on the 9th. I’m keeping fingers crossed for hearing this week. Meanwhile, at William & Mary I think the ED admittees heard about their financial aid before the RD kids even heard whether they were accepted, and now RD kids are waiting on their awards. But at least the Admitted Students Day there isn’t till April 17. You’re right, though - May 1st is going to come very quickly and the span of time for making a decision gets smaller with every day without financial aid information.

You might want to check on W&M; mine was up two weeks ago.

Thanks tarheel151 – when you say “up,” where do you mean? on the portal? We’ve checked that. We’ll definitely call tomorrow.

washdcmom, We’ve had a lot of tech/process issues as well. It doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence, does it?

@Flinty, there is some portal on their website and intstructions for it were in my admissions packet. if you’ve checked it, then i guess i would call

I want to find out what my financial aid is as well :frowning: I’m also going up to explore carolina on april 9th, and it’d be nice to know that I would definitely be able to attend if I love it. Not that financial aid is the final decision maker, but it would just be a relief to hear.

lol…No NeedAVacation (me too!) it does not… My husband told my son to scratch it off the list if we don’t hear by the weekend. They went to Tar Hill Day and enjoyed it, but he likes a couple of other schools as much if not more, and being OOS we suspect there will be plenty of loans involved anyway…

I keep checking for my financial aid status, as it plays a big factor for my family, and all I see is this at the MyUNC Campus Portal:

same. UNC is driving me crazy right now considering I got in months ago (ea) you would think I would be on the top of some kind of list

I’m with you. I got accepted back in Jan, sent all my financial aid info by early February, and my status, 2 months later, is exactly the same. As an OOS, I’m going kind of crazy, especially when I see others have already gotten their decision. But it’s nice to know we’re not alone!

did anyone hear today?

still have not heard :frowning: I’m checking it religiously. it’s ridiculous! I wanna know! grrr

This is so fustrating. i consider early april to be early april. Not miud-april to late-april.

I had some missing docs. I called the finaid office and the rep said that once they receive my missing docs, I will receive a decision in two weeks.

I got mine today :)

83% in grants for oos :D

My D received hers today. Not much -$9K in aid. Doesn’t look like UNC is going to happen. I did call UNC before she got the e-mail and I was told they load award packages on M, W, and F and to keep checking e-mail.

I got 60% loans for IS… they don’t seem to like me all too much <_<
