I got accepted to UCI and got a financial aid package that said they will cover 19,000 plus and I will have to pay a little over 8,000 out of my pocket or get loans.
I am still awaiting decision from UCLA and USC and did not accept UCI yet. But it says on the email I should accept the financial aid awards as soon as possible, my question is do I have to accept the financial aid even if I did not decide which school I will attend or can I wait till I make my decision which won't be until I find out if I will get accepted or rejected from UCLA and USC.

Do you know when you’ll have decisions on the others? I’d think you have at least 2 weeks from the award letter (look carefully at the fine print and call/email if it doesn’t specify).

I have no idea, according to stats on this thread I can be getting decisions anywhere between tomorrow to June 1! Can’t re-read as of right now because I got it through email and the UCI site is experiencing slow downs…So lets say I really do only have 2 weeks and I didn’t accept it, does that mean if in the end I decide on UCI I will have NO financial aid at all? Or can I just accept anyway even if I didn’t choose to attend UCI yet?

Better to call UCI than take the word of random internet posters. No one can guarantee your award will still be valid except UCI. My experience has been that you accept their offer of admissions, and then accept (or decline) your FA awards. But I’m sure different schools have different ways of handling things. I would not wait beyond their deadline or beyond May 1st as FA awards can be rescinded.

Good luck with your decision!

okay tried email but kept getting some error, guess I will call.

Good heavens! It’s April 13th! When are those 2 schools going to let you know?
