I just read a thread about UCSD financial aid and it got me all nervous. I'm going to call the schools I applied to tomorrow, but for now I have a few questions/worries.

So the only school I know anything about financial aid for is UCSD so far.

From the Financial aid package web thingy:

Your application must be completed by May 1st in order to be considered for university grants, loans or work-study. To receive an official UCSD Financial Aid Award Notification, you must:

* By May 1st, provide the UCSD Financial Aid Office with:
o Additional information if requested later by UCSD.
- By June 1st, provide the UCSD Admissions Office with: o Your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR).

.....You will receive a notification at your UCSD e-mail box when your official award is available. .......

I don't have that bit about a verification form that someone else had. What is that for? Also, does anyone know how to access your UCSD e-mail box?

And now for something goofy. When I completed my FAFSA, i got a message saying that they couldn't confirm my citizen status with the social security office. I called the ss office to double check and they said that I am a "legal alien"!!! I was born in santa barbara california. The goofy part is that i have a twin brother, and he is a citizen and I wasn't! Anyway, i got it cleared with the social security office, but was unable to update my fafsa. They just said i had to prove to each campus individually that i am a citizen.

So this is the question... do i need to tell UCSD now even though they haven't asked me yet (that i know. I guess i could have gotten something in the "UCSD e-mail box")

Do I need to tell the other schools (berkeley and ucla) now as well even though they haven't told me anything about financial aid. Would it be too late to tell 'em this information after I get accepted/rejected from Cal?
