if you're applying early do you submit FAFSA and all those other forms w/ your application? and if you're accepted (cross fingers) early when do you find out about your financial aid package? what about if you apply regular when you find out what your package is?

ok lol. no one seems to care...i guess people are more worried about getting in then the financial aid part.

From all I've read, you can't submit the FAFSA until Jan 1. I think the early application deadline is before then. Also, if you really NEED financial aid, it may be better not to go with early decision, so you can compare financial offers among schools.

You can still compare financial aid offers from other schools if you apply early to Stanford and RD elsewhere. It is SCEA which is non-binding. I waited until almost the deadline to confirm enrollment at Stanford for the very purpose of comparing fin. aid offers. You cannot submit FAFSA before January 1st, but you do fill out the CSS Profile which Stanford uses to give you a rough estimate of your financial aid package. You will receive this estimate with your early acceptance letter. The official financial aid document comes much much later after FAFSA and everything else like you tax forms have been reviewed. I think it came after RD decisions were out. Good luck with your application!
