Financial Aid

I learned from a friend that Tisch offers no financial aid. Zero. But what about the other schools? Does anyone have any information about how the other schools rate in terms of financial aid? In other words, one knows going in that they can expect zero aid from Tisch. But what about CAS? Or the Global Liberal Studies school?

Thanks much.

Tisch does offer FA. All Eligble students are entitled to FA. There are different grants and scholarships that are offered by the different schools. With that said, NYU is notoriously noted for not offering good FA. Some students do better than others. If you have high SAT/ACT scores, overall stellar application you have a better chance of getting better aid than most. But you have to apply to see what you will get. NYU does not meet 100% need.
My daughter is in CAS and she receives FA, but it was less than what any of her other schools offered her.

I have a friend at Tisch (freshman) who got $20,000 in scholarship… so they definitely offer aid.

Glad to see these responses. My friend, whose son was a freshman at Tisch last year, said “Tisch told us at the outset they give NO financial aid. Zero.” Interesting to see that YMMV! I’m afraid we didn’t realize how good we had it when our S was at a school that does meet 100% of need. (And I’ll never forget the admissions person at a Brown info session. When the subject of financial aid came up, he said (jokingly?): “Let’s face it - we’re loaded!”)
