How do you accept the grants UCLA offered? I was on URSA viewing my financial award summary but it doesn't give me an option to accept or not accept the offers. They mentioned an offer letter at the bottom of the page. Is this supposed to be mailed to you because if it is, I haven't received one yet. Also I received some outside scholarships so do I send a letter to the Financial Aid Office to inform them of this?

I have the same questions. Also, I have related questions about epal. When will we get our actual financial aid summary (efan i think) so we can know what loans to get and such

"How do you accept the grants UCLA offered?"

You actually have to wait until your EFAN is available on the finaid office's website. When it is finally available (which should be not too much longer from now) then you can accept the grants. Also, I can't remember if they actually send you a paper copy of your offer letter. If I remember correctly it's all online.

"Also I received some outside scholarships so do I send a letter to the Financial Aid Office to inform them of this?"

You can wait for your offer letter when you accept whatever finaid you get to report your outside scholarships. At least that's what I did last year. Or you can go ahead and send them a letter.

"When will we get our actual financial aid summary?"

Hopefully soon. Actually all I can really say is that it'll be sometime before September. I think I got mine last year sometime in June or early July so, yeah...if that helps at all...

It did help ckings86. Thanks a lot. I was freaking out a bit because I was afraid the deadline might have passed, and I wouldn't receive any of the grants. So phew. This college thing is so stressful.

We have to report scholarships we received to financial aid?

"We have to report scholarships we received to financial aid?"

Yes. (I'd say more but, there's not much else to say...)

If we report our outside scholarships to financial aid, does that affect the amount of financial aid we'll get? (i.e. decrease in university grants?)

Um...possibly. But, that's why I waited until I got my EFAN to report my scholarships last year. I didn't accept a couple thousand dollars worth of loans on it and then, at the same time, I reported my scholarships and my grants didn't change. I'm sure that's probably not the way they want you to go but it worked.
