Financial Engineering

Does Cornell have a Financial Engineering major? I've been poking around the site, but I have not yet been able to find anything of that nature within the Engineering department. Thanks!

Operations Research and Information Engineering.

Same thing, different name eh?

first, it's called Operations Research and Industrial Engineering.
second, look up OR or IE on wikipedia or something.

If you're considering studying it for 4 years then you should at least have a basic idea of the subject/what it entails.

I'm an idiot for looking at this site....

Don't need your commentary, but thanks.

No, they changed the name to Information Engineering this year. If you looked at the site (<a href="http://www.orie.cornell.edu%5B/url%5D">www.orie.cornell.edu</a>) you'd know that.

These fields historically are NOT exactly the same thing, and the degree to which they are comingled at this school bears further investigation if you care.

For some background, this thread might be helpful.
