<p>Yes, in the sense that some schools are “need aware” which means they take your household income into account because they may not want to give you any aid. “Need blind” schools on the other hand don’t look at your finances as part of the application process. If you do a search, you will find lists for both need blind and need aware schools.
Also, keep in mind that transfers are not looked at the same as freshman applicants, so a school may be need blind, but go on their website to see if the same is true for transfers.</p>
<p>I think with the way endowments are, many colleges are looking for full pay students. Or colleges will accept students but not give them enough aid to attend.</p>
