Financial statement

i'm an international student and i was wondering if i had to hand in anything "financial" like a form or like something that shows my parents can afford school?

yes. you can get them to sign it via the common app online

i’m sorry i dont really get it… :frowning: so there’s something online that my parents can just sign online?

Check this page from NYU’s “Office of International Students and Scholars”…it references your having to fill out an NYU I-20 or DS2019…whatever those are.

[OISS | University Life | Essentials | Financial Aid](<a href=“Student Visa & Immigration”>Student Visa & Immigration)

Text from this link:
"There is very little financial aid available to international students in this country, as most aid derives from U.S. government sources and is restricted to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. When you applied for your NYU I-20 or DS-2019, you had to prove that you had all funding required for tuition and living expenses for each year of your degree program. "

Yep, go to commonapp.org

Add NYU to your list of colleges
go to School Forms, and you will see that there is a financial aid agreement you have to sign for international students

No, if you’re not applying for financial aid, then you don’t have to send in a financial statement. You would have to send that in if you get accepted and decide to matriculate.

Hmm?! I did not see that and I just sent in my app in (OUCH!o.O)…Does US colleges count Canadian students as international?
