financially sound oppertunities to study abroad

so an alumni just donated a couple million dollars to the german department at my school and they are practically giving away study abroad scholarships to study in germany for a year. To put some numbers out there, I could study in germany for a year for 8,000 dollars. (needless to say im gonna do it)

Does anyone else out there have access through their college (or otherwise) to really great study abroad oppurtunities?

Does your tuition partially pay for study abroad cost?

The schools that I’m looking at, and the one I’m into, if you receive financial aid, your FA will go toward the study abroad. They also have merit scholarships available.

I’m currently studying abroad in Flanders (Dutch speaking region of Belgium), paying resident Irish tuition fees (IE; nothing), also get a €2000 grant from the EU so I’m especially sorted since getting work as a barman here.
