Don’t know his GPA, wasn’t my place to ask. He didn’t get into Claremont McKenna which was his first choice, I believe, but he’s happy with Ursinus.

Yea I understand . Do u know the avg gps for ursinus by any chance?

Did your parents attend college? Have you asked their opinion? I assume they know you pretty well and might be able to give you some valuable feedback. Also, talk to your guidance counselor for suggestions. Finally, talk to someone who is in the fields you are interested in pursuing. Good luck to you.

Regarding sports, it’s not that you should give up going to a good school to play sports, but the fact that you’re willing to play sports can be your “hook” to get into a good school.

Plugging your figures and desired major and location into CC’s search tool, here are some suggestions:

Saint Michael’s (not sure why, but this came to mind before plugging in your stats)
Manhattanville
U. Hartford

ndfbfan: You can find out the avg GPA and SAT stats of any school by using Google. Just type in “freshman profile” and the name of the school. Here’s the link for Ursinus:

Im starting to understand how sports can be a “hook” for schools. University of Maine coach actually visited my school today to talk to me and my friend about playing football there.

anyone else have any input?

Hartwick College seems a good fit and obviously some of the SUNY’s.

yea my gpa is welllllll below the average there but it may be a good reach to look into. Im kind of looking at the bigger universities trying to find both matches and reaches as of now because after visiting marist and other small colleges im starting to realise that i cant like picture myself in that type of atmosphere

[West Virginia University | Majors](http://www.wvu.edu/majors/index.cfm)

West Virginia University, COA about $26,000/year for OOS students.

yea but i hear that its kind of a joke there and doesnt realy help in the job search after college

I mentioned West Virginia as a 3.1 GPA would not hold you back, there.

Okay I’ll defff keep that in mind thank u !!!

[UD Admissions: Experience Knowledge, Exerience UD](<a href=“Undergraduate Admissions | University of Delaware”>Out-of-State Students | University of Delaware)

You could take a look at University of Delaware. Might be a possibility if you improve your SAT scores.

Just my opinion, but schools like UMASS, UCONN, Binghamton, Stony Brook, UVM (University of Vermont) are probably out of reach.

Yea I kinda figured (sigh) but I’ll probably apply to some schools like that as a reach

Look at Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Md.

NOT St. Mary’s College in St. Mary’s City.
